Aromahead's January Newsletter:
Essential Oils for Pain Relief

Hi, from Andrea!

From Andrea

Hi friend,

Happy new year!

Wow, can you believe it’s 2020? (It feels like I’m living in the future when I say that!)

Do you have any exciting dreams to move toward this year—or within the next 10 years? (Some of the best dreams take time to build!)

I have a great dream that we can take action toward today

Let’s start this year (and decade) with less pain. Let’s use essential oils to soothe our muscles, joints, and other discomforts.

Below, you’ll find recipes for your neck, feet, and knees—but the oils in these blends are versatile. You might want to try them in a headache oil, or a low back blend. If you have questions about how to use them, just reach out to us on Facebook. Jenny and Karen are doing more live trainings in January too, so you can also ask them personally. (The event schedule is below.)

Have a comfortable, pain-free, fun January!

Love,
Andrea

Gingergrass Foot Care Oil

A Recipe for You:
Gingergrass Foot Care Oil

Anybody up for a foot rub?

Use this foot care oil when your feet are especially sore. It’s made in Trauma Oil (a blend of 3 herbs infused into a carrier oil—arnica, St. John’s wort, and calendula). The essential oils in this blend are excellent for encouraging circulation, and calming inflammation in strained areas.

  • 1 oz (30 ml) Trauma Oil
  • 8 drops Gingergrass (Cymbopogon martinii var. sofia)
  • 6 drops German Chamomile (Matricaria recutita)
  • 2 drops May Chang (Litsea cubeba)

Make this blend in a 1 oz (30 ml) glass bottle. Combine the Trauma Oil and essential oils, and shake gently to blend.

If you make this recipe, take a picture and share it on social media! We’d love to know how it works for you. Use the hashtag #RecipeForYou, so we can find it. (Maybe we’ll feature you in the next newsletter!)

Folk's Natural Living

Our Aromatherapy World:
Folk's Natural Living

So many people are looking for natural ways to care for themselves and their family.

Carolyn Folk realized that she had something to offer.

Carolyn earned Aromatherapy Certification with us in 2017, and has started her own line of natural wellness, body care, and massage products called Folk’s Natural Living. (I think her name makes such a great natural business name!)

Carolyn sells her products at a local farmers’ market in Georgia, but she also has an online store where you can find her First Aid Salve and Sweet Lavender Lip Balm.

All of her ingredients are organic. Even those that aren’t “officially” labeled as organic, are grown or wild-crafted in an organic, sustainable, all-natural way.

It inspires me to see Aromahead graduates like Carolyn building their dreams and helping others in the process. You can visit Carolyn’s website here. (It’s so beautiful!)

Jenny is Aromahead’s Co-Director of Education.

There’s no time like the present to fully embrace our passions!  To get ready for 2020, I just finished listening to the audiobook of Girl, Stop Apologizing, by Rachel Hollis. It’s not an aromatherapy book, but it is about committing to your dreams and goals. (We’re all about that at Aromahead!)

In the book, Rachel shares the ways she shows up for herself, and what lights her up with joy. She gives practical tips for making abstract ideas into new realities.

I 100% recommend reading or listening to this book, especially right now while we’re in the freshest month of a brand new year! How do you want to show up for your dreams and goals this year?

Now you have a few go-to recipes for pain and inflammation—one for your neck, for your knees, and for your feet.

As I mentioned, the essential oils in these blends are versatile. If you’re experiencing pain in another muscle or joint, try them out and see how they work for you!

Before I go, I want to give you a “quick list” of essential oils for pain. There are many, but these are some of my favorites:
