Aromahead's December Newsletter

From Andrea

Happy Holidays!

I hope you’re having a beautiful season as we approach the turn of the year.

This is a wonderful time to take the opportunity to connect with family and friends, eat delicious nourishing food, and to feel gratitude for all the sweet things in life.

And of course, it’s a great time to give Aromatherapy gifts!

In this month’s newsletter you’ll find some great gift ideas that you can make for others in very little time. A handmade gift has a personal touch that can make someone feel so treasured! And I’ve also included an “Aromatherapy Gift Guide” below that can help you find the perfect gift for anyone.

Before we get into this month’s recipes, I want to leave you with a little quote from Mary Oliver that reminds me of the goodness of life . . .

“Sometimes I need only to stand where I am to be blessed.”

A Recipe for You: Sweet Orange Spice Foam Soap

bottleorangeNatural foam soap makes a great gift, and this blend takes less than 5 minutes to make. It’s big enough to live by the sink in the kitchen or bathroom.

Sweet Orange Spice Foam Soap

  • 7.5 oz (225 ml) castile soap

  • 25 drops Cardamom essential oil (Elettaria cardamomum)

  • 40 drops Sweet Orange essential oil (Citrus sinensis)

Make this blend in a 250 ml container with a foamer pump. (You can find them at Aromatics International, as well as other Aromatherapy suppliers.) Pour the castile soap and aloe vera gel into the bottle, then add the essential oil drops. Shake gently, add a fun label, and you’re ready to give someone the gift of luxurious natural foam soap!

Now go clean up by washing your hands!

Deb Hess Jewelry Art

Her necklace designs use pockets made of kiln-fired clay and metal clays (like copper and silver) for holding a diffuser pad, and her bracelets incorporate a hand-stamped word with lava rock beads – for inspiration as well as beauty. She recently added meditation beads to her product line, which are strands of semi-precious stones with a lava bead so you can easily bring essential oils into your prayer and meditation practice.

Deb is offering free shipping until the end of 2018, and in addition, you can get 10% off your purchase! Use the code AROMAHEAD at checkout through her website or her Etsy store.

  • To make (someone) feel or look young, healthy, or energetic again. (Merriam-Webster)

Business Tip: Hootsuite

hootsuite-LogoIf you’re a business owner, you probably use social media.

Maybe you even have more than one social media account.

And just maybe, sometimes, you realize how many different social media networks are out there, and how much work you’d have to do to be on all of them. There’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Tumblr, and more . . . That’s a lot of posting and a lot of comments to keep up with!

I want to tell you about a tool that makes it easy to post to all of your social media accounts at once. It’s called Hootsuite, and it can really maximize your outreach on social media while minimizing your stress.

Hootsuite is a “social media management platform,” which is a fancy way of saying it collects all of your social media accounts in one place. You can post to just one account from Hootsuite, or post to all of your accounts at the same time. Hootsuite also lets you schedule posts in advance, which is so helpful if you don’t have time to sit down and craft social media posts every day.

Hootsuite has a free version that lets you include a limited amount of social media accounts, and their upgraded version includes 10 social media accounts (which I think is plenty!) Check out their website and see if it’s a tool that could help you!

Aromahead Video: Patchouli and Myrrh’s “Peace on the Go” Inhaler

November-Youtube title-Patchouli and Myrrhs Peace on the Go-1200 x 1200-V1This is another recipe that I created for The Heart of Aromatherapy! It’s a calming inhaler. It can be great support for meditation, sleep or relaxation.

I use this recipe a lot. Have you ever wondered which essential oils to use for stress? This blend will help you immediately feel more grounded and calm.

Patchouli essential oil helps you feel peaceful and is calming to the nervous system. Myrrh essential oil is used to calm the respiratory system and your breathing. Rose Otto essential is all about the heart and feeling centered and connected to ourselves. Roman Chamomile is calming and beautiful.

Watch the video and enjoy the recipe!
